RAFATI's HISTORY

Reza
Rafati and wife Georgia, founders of Encore310 have been high-end
restaurateurs since the early 70s. Reza Rafati brings decades of
experience to Encore310 starting with seven years at the Canlis
Restaurant located at the top of Portland’s Hilton Hotel where he
served as General Manager for the last four. Reza moved on to
establish the Royal Exchange and Cricket Cage Restaurants located at
the former Georgia Pacific Building.
In 1983, Reza and Georgia together opened Rafati’s On The Waterfront
Restaurant. Located at SW Front between Salmon and Taylor Streets,
it was quickly established as the downtown destination for dinners
before and after local cultural events as well as a lunch hot spot.
Rafati’s earned a reputation for it’s innovative local cuisine,
outstanding service and affordable prices.
Rafati’s On The
Waterfront was only the second restaurant in Oregon to win a coveted
Award of Excellence from the national Wine Spectator Magazine for
their outstanding wine list. Subsequently the Rafati’s received the
“Best of” Award of Excellence in consecutive years through 1996.
Now the Rafati’s have seized the opportunity to serve Portland from
one of downtown’s premiere locations at the University Place Hotel.
From the heart of the cultural district and the center of Portland’s
academic community the Rafati’s will once again present Portland and
it’s out-of-town guests with the best our region has to offer.
Encore310 concentrates on the Northwest's bounty – local products,
natural foods bought locally from community farmers, fishermen,
ranchers and artisans. The wine list features the best of Oregon,
Washington and California as well as hard-to-find wines from Europe,
South America and Australia.
The Encore310 buzz has already begun and the Rafati’s are loving
seeing customers delight in the discovery of this little-known
dining gem and then seeing them return as regulars. Be assured that
success will not spoil the Rafati’s. Their secret is keeping that
local Portland feel and treating everyone as a neighbor coming to
dine with them.
Be their guest and you’ll be back – with friends.
Encore310 is open seven days a week for
breakfast, lunch and dinner.
